Sweet 9-weeker {Mercer County Baby Photographer}

At 9 weeks old, I was invited into this family’s beautiful home to capture sweet little E before she was completely out of the infant stage. The love of new parents for their baby is just so incredibly precious to capture, but it was even more so that day as I watched them fawn over her. Dad is so in love with his sweet baby girl and I just loved watching him snuggle and kiss her. The look on Mom’s face as she cuddled with E was just so heavenly. It was a mix of love, adoration, and disbelief that her baby girl was finally here. These moments are what make me really appreciate and love my job!

Polish Twins {South Jersey Newborn Photographer}

You know the saying…babies that are born within a year of each other are called Irish twins. Well, this sweet baby girl was born 1 year and 5 days after her older sister. I would say they are Irish twins, but Dad is Polish, so I think it is more appropriate to call them Polish twins. You may remember her older sister’s newborn session from last year. She had the most hair I’d seen on a newborn. She might as well have been the Rapunzel of babies because now at a year old, her hair is down her back! But like so many 1-year-olds, she had absolutely no desire to take pictures. She was more interested in going up and down the stairs during the session. We decided to focus on baby girl C and see if she would do some poses for us.

C was born at 31 weeks and spent a month in NICU. By the time we got her in the studio, she was already 2.5 months old. This still put her right around the time she would have been born. Typically, 2.5 months is an age that is really in between. No longer a newborn, but yet not doing much developmentally to do a 3-4 month session. So I really wasn’t sure what she would let us do!

Although she fought the sleep at first, she finally caved in and she was so easy to curl up! The only thing holding her back were all the adorable rolls she has! I’m not used to curling up a baby into a newborn shot, with feet tucked, and seeing all the wonderful chub! I think she gained her weight back pretty fast, don’t you think??

Urban Family {South Jersey Family Photographer}

If you follow my blog, you know this family quite well. Seems like yesterday when I was shooting big sister’s 18 month portraits and now little sister has turned one. It’s amazing how fast life passes by in a blink of an eye. Every moment is so precious when your kids grow up so fast. Big sister V has some serious health issues and was about to go into the hospital for a major surgery. Although I was on sabbatical, when mom contacted me and asked if I could do a family session for them, I just had to do them. What better way to recuperate than will lots of pictures of your loving family all around you. I don’t normally share this many images, but the story of the session is best told in full…

The weather was not particularly cooperating, but thankfully the rain held off. Little sister I was now 1 yr old and walking like a fiend. You know what that means. She did not want to slow down! She just wanted to walk and move everywhere. Even big sister could not stop her…

And while little Miss I didn’t want to take pictures, she loved being entertained by Mom’s singing. Miss I even started dancing and doing the hand movements to one of the songs. So cute!

It’s not easy getting sibling shots when walking and independence is such a novelty for the younger one! They are so cute together singing and dancing!

My favorite shots of the session are of the girls’ one-on-one time with Mom and Dad.

We finished up at the park so they could just have fun on the swings. You can’t take the kids to the park on swings and not get fun pictures! I adore the sisterly love here.

Thank you for a challenging, but fun session! Even better, Miss V didn’t have to have the surgery after all, so we just continue to hope for good health!

International Award-Winning Child and Newborn Photographer {New Jersey newborn and child photographer}

This year, I submitted images for the first time to the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Competition. PPA is the largest, non-profit organization for professional photographers. I am so very proud and honored that two of my images merited in competition and will be part of PPA’s General Collection and will be on display at the annual conference, Imaging 2012. My newborn image, Ten Pounds of Pure Sweetness, was also selected to be published in the prestigious Showcase Book, which includes the best images of the General Collection.

Soulful Gaze: I am particularly proud of this image because this is my daughter Bella who is the namesake of my company. I think it’s so appropriate that she is my first merited image.

Thank you first and foremost to my husband for being so supportive in helping me pursue my dream. I couldn’t have done this without him. To my parents, I am so grateful for all the countless times you have been there not only for me, but for the kids as well. I am so blessed to have family that helped me on this journey. To my clients without whom I could not have had an opportunity to capture these moments and grow my business. And lastly, to my photography colleagues (you know who you are!), thank you for helping me realize my dream and go for it. I am so proud to call you my friends. I love you all!

Sleepy Newborn S {Mercer County Newborn Photographer}

I got behind in blogging, so I’ll be posting a few shares from the end of 2010. Sweet baby S was a dream! Due to illness, we didn’t get a chance to do his session until he was 16 days old and often times, I have to prepare myself and the parents that babies may be more awake by that age. Not this sweet boy! He slept the entire time! I don’t think I ever saw him open his eyes! He probably has such beautiful eyes though because his big brother is just so cute and has such adorable eyes. S reminded me of my sweet son, both big babies weighing in over 10 lbs. But it’s amazing how big we think they are when they are born but how quickly that seems so tiny when they are several months old. S, thank you for being such an adorable and cooperative baby!

International traveling newborn {South Jersey Newborn Photographer}

This sweet 10-day-old newborn already has a passport! Her family is moving out of the country and I was honored to capture these sweet moments before they leave. Her parents were so calm and didn’t worry when she was crying as I was trying to get her to sleep or trying to get her posed. Her dad said the sweetest thing – “We know she’s in good hands.” I will miss this sweet baby girl. I may have to make an international visit to take pictures of her again in the future!

How do I outdo last year? {Mercer County Family Photographer}

That was the question I had to ask myself for my session with the H family. Many people remember them from last year in their rich red outfits with the beautiful fall colors. M was in love with his trains and brought one of his beloved trains that happened to also coordinate in the great red color. Since then, I’ve also done their maternity session at this park and their wonderful newborn session when J was born. So when Mom and I talked about doing their family fall session, she said she was excited to see what I would do and how could I top last year. Tall order since it was just such a wonderfully memorable session.

We arrived at the park with the sun still up but at this time of the year, that sun disappears fast!! It was a little chilly, but the kids were well coordinated in handsome sweaters and vest. M, I just love him! He is so full of life and loves to smile. He cracks me up, saying “cheeeeeeeeese” a million times. He has the biggest smile and oh how he loves his little brother!

Here are a few shots from their session and don’t forget to check out their fusioned video at the end. I am really thrilled with it. As I said at the beginning of the season, I’m trying it out and practicing with it, trying to get better and better with each session. I’m trying a new software and I love how it turned out. And I know, it’s the same song again, but I love it! I will be searching for new songs to license for next year, but for now, it’s just so appropriate for these fun family sessions I’ve done this year!

{15 months old} South Jersey Baby Photographer

When people find out I am a professional photographer, they often say that I must have tons of pictures of my own kids. To which I often respond that my kids are like the shoemaker’s children. It’s sad, but true. I don’t take as many pictures of my kids as I should. I plan outfits for them to wear together and then life goes by so fast and the opportunity slips away. It’s also a lot harder to take pictures of my own kids since being the photographer and the mom is so incredibly challenging.

It’s been many months since I “officially” took pictures of my little man. I didn’t even have a chance to take pictures when he turned 1. Three months later, when he turned 15 months this past Saturday, I finally set up and took his cake smash pictures. I did the same type of session for my daughter when she turned “1″ (plus 2 months!) In a way, I am glad I waited because he was not walking or free standing when he turned 1. Now he is able to stand up by himself in the middle of the floor and walk.

Today, I got to welcome the newest member to my family — my cousin’s sweet baby girl Miss L. It seems like yesterday we were welcoming her big sister K. Miss K adores her baby sister! She gave her so many kisses! And Miss L was just such a dream. She is 15 days old today and often times, babies older than 2 weeks start to stay awake more and won’t pose as well. She totally proved me wrong! While she did wake up when I moved her from the setup, she fell right back to sleep by the time I set the next blanket. And she posed so well! She opened her tiny little fingers so easily too. It was so wonderful to meet her and I look forward to watching her grow up!
