Mr. A is 9 days old today and what a handsome little boy! He has the cutest chubby cheeks I’ve ever seen. His mom said even in the ultrasounds, she could see his chubby cheeks. He weighed the same as my daughter at birth, and it was so nostalgic to hold him and remember my sweet baby girl when she was a newborn. This boy loves to eat! It won’t be long before he’s all filled out and these moments of his small newness will pass. Whenever I see the babies I’ve photographed even just a couple of weeks after the session, I am so amazed at how much they change. I just love my job and being able to work with these sweet newborns capturing these moments that pass all too quickly. More to come later this week!

I love to work late at night when everyone is sleeping and the house is still. Normally, my kids do not wake up at night, but last night, I heard the scampering of feet, a creaky door open and close, and more scampering of feet. Very unusual. I thought my daughter B just got up and went back to bed. When I went up for the night, I realized that my husband had left all the lights on, so I thought it strange that B would just go back to sleep after opening the door. Well, sure enough, my assumptions were correct because when I went in our bedroom, we had a little visitor! Very strange indeed as she never sleeps in our bed except the one rare time she was hysterically delusional from fever! So I grabbed the camera and completely freaked out my husband who suddenly woke up as I was hovering over him to take pictures of our sweet girl. Here’s hoping this hasn’t started a habit (although she looks so darn cute!)

Today, I got to welcome the newest member to my family — my cousin’s sweet baby girl Miss L. It seems like yesterday we were welcoming her big sister K. Miss K adores her baby sister! She gave her so many kisses! And Miss L was just such a dream. She is 15 days old today and often times, babies older than 2 weeks start to stay awake more and won’t pose as well. She totally proved me wrong! While she did wake up when I moved her from the setup, she fell right back to sleep by the time I set the next blanket. And she posed so well! She opened her tiny little fingers so easily too. It was so wonderful to meet her and I look forward to watching her grow up!

I just had to post more shots of Mr. B. His mom and I have been friends for a long time and when I did his newborn session, unfortunately, I had to squeeze it in and didn’t have a chance to do a full session. So we finished his session a few days later and he was much more cooperative with sleeping. He was quite the gentleman too, folding his legs perfectly to cover himself. He is just so precious!
