This wonderful family just added a beautifully sweet baby girl to their lives. Miss I is just such a sweet little thing. She looks so much like her big sister when she was a baby. And her big sister V just adores her. It was so cute to see V with her new baby sister. We thought she was coming for weeks since V was early and mom was feeling contractions for weeks. But Miss I came just the day before her due date weighing in a good 7 lbs 5 oz. The interesting thing is the two newborns I photographed last week also came in at 7 lbs 5 oz as well as one of the newborns I photographed in April who happens to be Miss I’s cousin (my younger niece was also 7 lbs 5 oz!) Four of my recent newborns all had the same birth weight. What are the chances of that?

This sweet girl just didn’t fall for my usual tricks for getting newborns to sleep. Mom knew best and held her until she passed out and she really was out. She even gave me a few smiles. How sweet is she??

Where did the time go? It seems not that long ago that I was here at the same park with my cousin and his wife when they were expecting their first baby taking their maternity portraits and then doing their newborn session a couple months after that. Now, here is that little baby, 18 months old waiting for her baby brother or sister to come in a few months.

It was so cute to see her interacting with the baby belly.

Love how they played together…

So full of life and so full of energy…

Until it was time to just slow down with Mommy.

I came across this great article by Amy Ro of Amy Ro Photography. When deciding what size prints to get for your home, consider that what you think is big is probably not as big as you think. Some people think an 8×10 is, but as you’ll see in her article, it’s not. Most photographers consider an 8×10 a desk print. I show clients a 16×20 float wrap and a 20×30 canvas gallery wrap. Once you actually see it up on the wall, you can see that a 20×30 actually isn’t huge like so many people think it is.

Take a moment to read her article and see her images showing the various sizes on the wall. I think you will be surprised how big you can really make your images and have it make a beautiful impact in your home.

Meet Miss E. I had the pleasure of meeting her today to take her portraits. She is 3 weeks old and while I advise clients to do the newborn pics in the first 10 days, like many people, E’s mom didn’t realize that newborn portraits are done that early. She contacted me after she had E and I was able to get her in my schedule today. She was an absolute dream! Babies at this age can be difficult to get to sleep for long periods of time and move around but she was so content once she fell asleep. She didn’t like to curl up too much in some poses, but she did fantastic! It was so nice meeting you and your mom today Miss E!

Remember this great couple who wanted to be surprised with what they were having? Well the waiting is over and they had a beautiful baby girl with the most fabulous hair I’ve ever seen. Both of my kids had a lot of hair but little Miss S really outdid them! And the lashes on this girl already, wow! What a sweet little baby and the floral headband looked so adorable on her – so much so that her mom asked where to buy one. This little lady is one lucky girl. Her parents absolutely adore her. Mom and I joked that Miss S had her daddy wrapped around her little finger from the time the doctor said, “It’s a girl!” Thanks for another wonderful session!
